Peoria Playhouse Children’s Museum

The Peoria PlayHouse exhibits draw on Peoria and Central Illinois, celebrating the past, present, and future of the community. The space features six themed exhibit areas and a wide variety of programs for children of all ages including three “tot spots” for younger children with toys, board books, and safe places to crawl.

Each themed exhibit area included various hands-on tactile, mechanical, hydro, and audio visual interactives where children could use a loader and dump truck to move rocks; cross a musical bridge; become a vegetable farmer, milk a cow, or climb through a chicken coop; go back in time to ride a train or perform on vaudeville; conduct science experiments; dig in a sand pit; and explore the currents, fish, and boats on the Illinois River.
