Project Details: A nearly 5,000 square foot historical, sociological and interpretive museum based on the American civil rights march that occurred in the 1960’s. The project’s fabrication phase began in June of 2005 and was completed in September of 2006 with a final production cost of $752,239.
Work: Elements for this project included the following: tons of DHPL on various substrates, numerous AV programs, mechanical and A/V interactives, LSI track lighting, conservation cases, fiber optic display lighting, custom artifact mounting, life cast figures, scenic work, and partition walls.
Challenges: The museum’s GC was not able to complete the building on time. Simultaneously, our exhibit case subcontractor was delayed in manufacturing. We contacted the COR and conservation case fabricator to arrange a new schedule that met the GC’s completion schedule. In the end, all schedule, budget, and quality standards were met.
