The 39th president Jimmy Carter was a force to be reckoned with. As a philanthropist, former farmer, and an American politician, it’s incredible he had the time to take of and manage one of the most powerful nations in the world for four years. Born and raised in Plains, Georgia, the home to Jimmy Carter National Historic Site also takes place.
“Make this your first stop in Plains”.
Mary W. from Cumming, Georgia
Color-Ad, Inc. teamed up with the National Park Service and Healy Kohler Design to fabricate indoor exhibits for the National Site. The Plains High School, Carter’s old school, is the home to his famous museum and visitor center. There was an astounding amount of custom elements created for this project.
Two original custom figures (student and teacher) were created, molded, and cast in bronze for a student-teacher ratio tactile. One of the most mesmerizing models was a model of the very building you are standing in, Plains High School exterior. Other recreations included a signed draft card, a membership card to the Democratic party, and an identification tag. The national historic site also received other elements such as audio visual programs and hardware.
Our team provided all the equipment, programs, and installation of all the AV software and hardware. To submerge visitors more in the experience, interactives were created like a “Name That Tune” interactive where visitors would listen to music clips and do their best to guess which song it is. Videos, like the “Carter Center Film Experience”, were also included in this project.
“I loved the classroom set up with the different sized desks, the photos are great and all the info really gives you an inside look at their lives.”
-Wyldecamp, Aurora, Colorado
“It was an awesome experience seeing President Carter’s Noble peace prize, his paintings, and learning more about his amazing life, accomplishments, and contributions. He and his wife Roselyn are such a blessing to their community at home and the world at large.”
-Visitor Marret from Michigan
Whether you are a history buff, an enthusiast, or just plain curious, this experience is definitely something to add to your calendar. The museum is suitable for all ages, group-friendly, family-friendly, and free admission and parking!
