The Interagency Visitor Center for the SMMNRA is located at King Gillette Ranch and serves as the main information and interpretive center for the SMMNRA, including state park and national park sites and conservancy lands. The Interagency Visitor Center provides an orientation to the SMMNRA, interprets the unique characteristics of the Santa Monica Mountains, and introduces visitors to the varied resources available to them. A key overall goal for this project was to create exhibits that are interactive, educational, and engaging to a multi-cultural, urban audience of all ages.
The scope of work for this project included AV multimedia and interactive program production, AV hardware and its installation, wayside exhibits, hands-on interactive elements, bird/animal models, scenic dioramas, object theaters, immersive environments, banners, environmental graphics, 3D tactile maps, other 3D tactile elements, interpretive sculptures, and audio description program and hardware.
